Snow Day

Ok, so I don't think we are the best bloggers. We haven't posted in over 4 months!

So this weekend John and I were supposed to go to Eureka Springs to work on some wedding plans; however, we never made it. Due to the weather, I-40 was closed from OK to NM so there was no leaving Amarillo. John worked a half-day Thursday and luckily made it back home right before I-40 closed. That officially started our weekend. It was great and the dogs loved it!

On Thursday I stayed home and caught up on all of my emails and blogs. After reading Laura's (John's sister) blog, I was inspired to clean the house. So that is what I did all day while John and the dogs took a nap. (Yes, John's nap was long enough to get him out of cleaning the house!) We then decided it was time for dinner, so John decided to make breakfast. He whipped up some French toast and bacon (which were really yummy!).

Friday was a little more relaxing. We stayed inside, played in the snow with the dogs, and watched the neighbors try to dig out of their houses (which took most of the day). The dogs had a blast outside. Max wanted to stay out all day. Minnie had fun for a while, but was soon ready to go back in to warm up.

Max had a rough day and took a cozy nap while John and I battled it out on the Wii.

On Saturday John finally shoveled enough to get the car out. Shortly after, my dad came over with his tractor and cleared the whole driveway so we could get both cars out.

If you notice in the background, our new neighbors were moving into their new house. Not fun!

Overall, it was a wonderful weekend but it was so hard to go back to work on Monday! I don't know who enjoyed the weekend more, us or the dogs. They're calling for a little more snow/ice tomorrow so we're hoping for another snow day!

Jeepers To Be

We had a great weekend of Jeeping in the Palo Duro Canyon just south of Amarillo. We went with Rick, Shelly and their '83 CJ7 to the Jeep challenge and I think we're hooked. It was amazing what these Jeeps can do and the sights were pretty impressive too!

The group that organized the challenge raffled off many prizes that ranged from tools to Jeeping events. To top off a great weekend of fun, Caley won the grand prize of an 8000 lb winch in the raffle! She thinks it's a sign that she needs a Jeep now.

Dogs at the Beach

Our dogs' feelings are hurt because we haven't posted them in our blog yet, and they feel left out! Here they are...
During our trip to South Texas, we got to spend a day at the beach. While staying at Laura and Trey's house in Corpus Christi, they brought Caley and me to North Padre Island. Their two dogs (Johnny Five and Scarlet) and our two dogs (Max and Minnie) had a blast.

Meet Maximus (Max)

We learned that he loves the water!

Meet Minnie

We learned that she doesn't care too much for the water!

She's content just watching!

299 Days To Go!

It's been a while since we've posted anything. Don't worry, we're still alive and well!

We don't have much more news about the wedding. If you know the dates of your travel, it might be a good idea to book your hotel rooms. We recommend the Basin Park Hotel, where the reception is being held. It's located smack dab in the middle of downtown. Its prime location provides you the convenience of being able to walk from place to place without driving your car and fighting traffic (It's really easy to get lost!). The rooms are all a little different, so you want to get one that suits your fancy. Don't forget to mention you're with the Stamper-Blandford wedding party.

Traveling to Eureka Springs may be difficult for some. San Antonio is over 10 hours away, Chicago's almost 10 hours. Amarillo's about 8, OKC is 4 and a half hours, etc. Lots of fuel and miles, but it'll be worth it! If you're flying, a little more research is needed to find the closest airport and the cheapest fare.

We hope you have started planning, because we want eveyone's trip to go smoothly.

Until next time...

The Engagement

For those of you who don't know...we are engaged!

The wedding will be on June 26th in Eureka Springs. It is a beautiful little town in the mountains of northwest Arkansas. We hope that you all will be able to make the trip to be there with us. The ceremony will take place at the Thorncrown Chapel and the reception following will be held at the Basin Park Hotel, where we would like everyone to stay.

Check out their websites and see what you think. We will try to make updates when we find out more!
